The Medical Library is located in the corridor across from the Auditorium, adjacent to the Board Room, Physicians’ Lounge and Physicians' Mail Room.

Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loan

All Good Samaritan staff are welcome to submit requests for document delivery.

Please provide the citation(s) and your contact information, including an e-mail address, in case clarification is needed. Email your Request to

Unless otherwise specified, articles will be sent to your e-mail address as PDF attachments.  This process usually takes no more than 48 hours.  If you have an urgent, time-sensitive request, contact the Library and we will do a RUSH or urgent patient order (within 24 hours).

Wireless / Computers

Please note: Computer use is monitored very closely by hospital IT.

Work stations, power outlets, and ethernet cables are available for personal laptop use.

Computers are available in the library for staff and visitor use.Computers have internet access, MS office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and are all connected to the main printer. However, use of USB ports on in-library computers is prohibited by IT.

The PAC computer does not have Microsoft Office products installed.

Food and Drink

Covered drinks are O.K. while at the computers.
Please - no food or snacks near the keyboards, mice, or CPUs.

Photocopier / Fax

A photocopier is available for your convenience.  This copier can collate, staple, and scan to create a PDF-formatted document. There is no charge for hospital or library-related copies.

Faxing is available.

Current Awareness/ Tables of Contents

The Current Awareness Service alerts participating users to newly published research in their respective fields/professions or information on select topics of interest.

The Medical Staff Library provides current awareness services for staff in several ways:

  • Tables of Contents for library print subcriptions can be photocopied upon arrival and directed;
  • E-TOCS (electronic copies of tables of contents for e-journals) can be sent to your home or office e-mail.
